Bird madness (singing, toki, calling, male fights, building nests) is now all over Poland. From April 1 - April 20, 2022, field trips (Bird & Car) will be conducted only in the Nida Valley. This river valley, about 100 km long, includes floodplain meadows and pastures, oxbow lakes, complexes of fish ponds and a mostly natural riverbed. It is an important place for migrating wetland birds with concentrations reaching tens of thousands of individuals. It is one of the most important breeding sites for Spotted Crake, Little Crake, Bittern, Little bittern,  Marsh Harrier, Corncrake. The breeding populations of the Black-tailed Godwit, Lapwing, Redshank, Snipe, Shovel and Garganey are the most numerous in southern Poland. The spring singing of birds in bright mating robes is the perfect time to get to know them better and it is best to do it in the company of experienced birdwatchers. We invite you to the field expedition "Bird pearls in the Nida Valley" starting tomorrow.
