An unusual guest came to the balcony of the headquarters of the Academy of Roztocze at the end of October. It was right, because the company deals with flying animals, and more precisely with birds. He stayed here for about 3 weeks, turned upside down, motionless in the so-called lethargy. After this time, when one of the warmer November days came, the guest turned his head up and climbed onto the wooden slats under which he was hiding on the balcony. He woke up to life, began to breathe intensely and flew away shortly after dark. Unfortunately, it was not a bird, but a flying mammal - a Silver-Plated Bat (Vespertilio murinus). The bat specialist stated that this bat was on the so-called crossings and decided to rest on the balcony. It is one of the largest bats that can be found in Roztocze. This species is wandering and seems to have made its way towards its colonies. Their mating season falls in late autumn and probably the "call of the species survival" called him to continue his journey. Everything is clear, birds are also on the so-called spring and autumn. and sometimes they rest in different places, and then there is an opportunity for observation.
