The Tundra Goose (Anser serrirostris) is a large water bird in the duck family. Its plumage is cream-brown with bright stripes with a slight hint of gray. The head and short neck are darker than the rest of the body. The rump and tail are white, and the legs are orange. There is a characteristic orange stripe on the bow. This species was isolated from the previous „Bean Goose” species, which has been subdivided into two taxa: Bean Goose (Anser fabalis) and Tundra Goose (Anser serrirostris). In Poland, tundra geese are found on passages and it happens that they winter. These birds nest in the wet tundra in Western Siberia. Soon it will be the peak of their flights over Poland, and this is the best opportunity for observation. Roztocze is one of the migration routes of these geese from southern Europe to the far north.
